On the morning of 10 August 2024, a significant landslide occurred on the western slope of Mount Etna in the island of Sicily following heavy rainfall associated with Storm Harry. The slide displaced a volume of earth estimated at 1.2 million cubic metres, producing a large debris field that blocked the Serre di Crati valley road._2_Officials reported that more than 1,000 residents were relocated from affected villages such as Caltanissetta and Gela by local authorities.
