Rubio's husband, Kenny Niedermeier, was in Ohio for a funeral but is making his way to Hannah. Rubio revealed that he attempted to obtain temporary humanitarian parole to cross the border, but a U.S. Customs and Border Protection supervisor told him such paroles have not been granted since 2025. He and his immigration attorney are now pursuing a separate emergency request.
