According to reports, Nintendo is considering plans to launch an OLED model of the Switch 2, but remains concerned about the cost. A ZDNet report cites industry sources familiar with plans for an enhanced model with a 1080p OLED screen from Samsung. However, the plans are uncertain due to high costs, as OLED screens are more expensive to manufacture than the LCD technology currently used by the Switch 2. This is compounded by rising prices for semiconductors and other components, which already led Nintendo to announce a $50 price increase for the Switch 2 a year after its launch.
