Bonnie Tyler, the singer of "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and "Holding Out for a Hero," has died at the age of 75. Her family announced that she "unexpectedly passed away" in a hospital in Portugal due to the illness she was being treated for. Just weeks before her death, Tyler had told Hello! magazine that she felt "fit enough" to perform, crediting her health to doing Pilates for 20 minutes a day and a successful knee surgery. Tyler's health had declined in recent months. In April, she was hospitalized with intense abdominal pain and underwent emergency surgery for a serious tear in her bowel. The following month, she was placed in a medically induced coma after further intestinal surgery in Portugal. Her team later said her recovery was slow, and all her concerts through August were canceled. Tyler is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert Sullivan.
