A boy's remains were found in Illinois two years after he was reported missing by his mother, leading to the arrest of his father, Ronnell Marquese Jones, and another adult, Kirstie Dora. Jones, 32, allegedly told numerous stories about his son's whereabouts, including claiming he dropped the boy off to live with an Amish community in Mississippi. The mother reported her son missing in 2024, saying she last saw him in Jones' vehicle and that he had missing teeth at the time. Both Jones and Dora were arrested on charges of parental kidnapping and harassment, with Jones arrested on June 30 and Dora on July 2. The Desloge Police Department announced on July 9 that a child's remains were found in Stookey Township, Illinois, about 16 miles from where the defendants live in St. Louis. The remains have not yet been identified, but police said the discovery was in connection with Jones' parental kidnapping case. Both defendants are being held without bond, though neither has been charged with the child's death.
