Celebrity Deaths of 2026: Louise Lasser and More Stars We’ve Lost

Hollywood has mourned several legendary stars in 2026, with the year seeing deaths across entertainment, sports and media. The year began with Broadway performer Bret Hanna-Shuford at 46 and comedy icon Catherine O'Hara at 71. February saw the deaths of "Dawson's Creek" actor James Van Der Beek at 48 and actor Eric Dane at 53. Former NASCAR driver Chase Pistone and actor Chuck Norris died in March. April brought the deaths of "Days of Our Lives" actor Patrick Muldoon following a heart attack and singer Alan Osmond at 76. CNN founder Ted Turner died in May at 87, along with NASCAR icon Kyle Busch at 41. June saw the deaths of music executive Clive Davis at 94, Village People lead singer Victor Willis at 74, and actor Joby Baker at 92. In July, G.R.L. member Lauren Bennett died at 37, and "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" star Louise Lasser died at 87 at her Manhattan home. Lasser's friend Susan Charlotte confirmed her death to The New York Times.
