Claude Cowork expands to mobile and web

6d · 19 views

Anthropic has expanded its Claude Cowork agent, previously a desktop-only app, to web and mobile platforms for Max subscribers. The expansion allows users to start tasks on their desktop, receive status updates on their phone, and retrieve finished work later, even if their laptop is closed. This move signals Anthropic's ambition to position Cowork as a versatile administrative tool that can work in the background across devices, rather than just a coding assistant. The launch comes as AI firms compete to integrate their products into everyday work environments beyond simple chatbots. Anthropic released early data from 1.2 million Cowork sessions, showing the most common use case (33.4%) was business process operations like compiling reports and building checklists, followed by content creation and copywriting (16.4%). The company also recently launched Claude Tag, an always-on AI teammate integrated into Slack.
