Dave Matthews pauses concert to condemn ICE ‘a–holes’ for Houston death

Dave Matthews, lead singer of the Dave Matthews Band, condemned Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as “a–holes” during a Friday concert. In a viral video clip, Matthews spoke about the death of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, saying: "This father and grandfather who was murdered by ICE in Houston, Texas. Then they say he’s not even the guy they were looking for. Well then don’t pull the trigger, you a–holes." He apologized if the language offended anyone but said he wanted to send the moment to Araujo's memory. According to ICE, Araujo, an illegal immigrant and Mexican citizen, was shot and killed in Houston after he allegedly tried to ram US ICE officers during an operation. An ICE spokesperson told Fox News Digital that Araujo tried evading officers when he "weaponized his vehicle in an attempt to run over an ICE law enforcement officer, resulting in our officer firing his weapon in self-defense." Matthews has previously condemned ICE agents, including after the killing of activist Renee Good in Minneapolis in February, when he spoke out in a video on his Instagram.
