Did ball hit spidercam before England goal? Snicko says not - Norway unsure

Norway's World Cup campaign ended in a 2-1 quarter-final defeat to England, with the team expressing frustration over Jude Bellingham's equaliser. The Norwegians claimed the ball struck a spidercam wire in the build-up to the goal, which would have resulted in the goal being disallowed and play restarting with a dropped ball. Norway midfielder Sander Berge called the situation "ridiculous," while captain Martin Odegaard said "margins were not in our favour today." Fifa later stated there was "no evidence" the ball touched a wire, citing that the sensor in the connected ball showed no peak in its 'heartbeat' while in the air. Norway head coach Stale Solbakken acknowledged the referee's explanation that he didn't see the incident and received no message about it, but maintained that "many on the bench reacted immediately" and believed the ball did make contact. Norway was also aggrieved by a second-half header from Torbjorn Heggem being ruled out after a VAR review penalised Erling Haaland for a shove.
