Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Braydon Fisher is mourning the sudden death of his father, Norm Fisher, who died at age 62 on July 6 after suffering a stroke while on a road trip with the team. Braydon rejoined the team on July 8 and spoke to reporters, describing his father as an "amazing person" who was "always happy, cheerful and willing to help anybody." He noted that his father loved baseball and was rarely seen without Blue Jays gear over the past two years. Braydon, who is in his second MLB season, will remain on bereavement leave until the team's next series in San Diego. He called the past few days the "hardest" of his family's life and thanked the Blue Jays staff for their support in arranging flights, hotels, and giving him time to grieve. He plans to travel home during the All-Star break to be with his family and remember his father's life.
