Fenerbahce are growing increasingly confident of signing Mason Greenwood from Marseille, with a deal worth around 45m euros (£38.36m) being discussed. The French club has been open to selling the 24-year-old former Manchester United forward, who has scored 48 goals in 76 appearances since joining Marseille in July 2024 for £26.6m. United negotiated a "sizeable sell-on fee" of around 40% in that deal. Greenwood, who finished joint second in the Ligue 1 golden boot standings with 16 goals last season, has been linked with both Fenerbahce and Roma all summer. Both Fenerbahce presidential candidates expressed interest before the June elections. The Turkish club, which finished second for the fifth consecutive season, will play Gornik Zabrze in the Champions League second qualifying round this month. Greenwood previously spent the 2023-24 season on loan at Getafe after United ruled out his return following an internal inquiry, despite charges of attempted rape and assault being dropped in February 2023.
