Google will now disclose which ads are made with AI

4d · 9 views

Google is introducing a new feature to help users identify when an ad has been created or edited using AI technology. The feature will be available through the "My Ad Center" panel, accessible by clicking the three-dot menu or info icon on ads seen via Google Search, YouTube, and Google Discover. Users will see an option labeled "How this ad was made" indicating if AI was involved. For ads created using Google's own generative AI advertising tools, the disclosure will be automatically enabled. However, for ads created elsewhere, advertisers will need to manually use a new control to indicate AI involvement, as Google will not perform its own checks. Previously, Google only required such disclosure for election ads. The company stated that in some markets, ads may also be labeled as AI if local law requires it.
