Hayden Panettiere Cancels Convention Appearance Amid Mystery 'Emergency'

Hayden Panettiere has canceled her appearance at California's Creep I.E. Aftermath convention due to a last-minute emergency. The event announced the cancellation via Instagram on Friday, July 10, stating they were looking forward to her appearing at an upcoming show. Face/Off star Dominique Swain will appear in Panettiere's place at the convention, which runs from Friday through Sunday. Panettiere, 36, has not publicly addressed her absence, but her representative told Us Weekly that she "cancelled her appearance due to a health matter concerning an elderly relative." The cancellation comes months after the release of her memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, in May, in which she opened up about her childhood, mental health, postpartum challenges, and past relationships. The book landed on The New York Times bestseller list.
