Hilary Duff was supported by her close celebrity mom friends during the second night of her Los Angeles concert on The Lucky Me Tour. The group, which included Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor, and others, was captured in photos shared on social media by author Gaby Dalkin. Moore shared a video from the night, praising Duff for delivering "the degree of joy to 18K people" and calling it "superhero level," while Trainor revealed that Duff was the "reason I became a pop star." The show of support comes after Duff's mom group faced scrutiny earlier this year when former member Ashley Tisdale French wrote an essay for New York Magazine's The Cut titled "Breaking Up With My Toxic Mom Group." Tisdale French claimed she was "left out of a couple of group hangs" and felt "frozen out," though she did not name the women involved. Fans connected the essay to Duff's group after both women had children in 2021. Duff addressed the drama on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast in February, saying she felt "sad" and "pretty taken aback" by the essay. Moore also defended Duff in a Glamour interview, calling her "such an incredible talent and such an incredible mother" and praising their friendship that grew after the birth of her eldest son in 2021.
