‘How to Eat Fried Worms’ child star Blake Garrett’s cause of death revealed

The cause of death for Blake Garrett, the former child star known for his role as Plug in the 2006 film "How to Eat Fried Worms," has been confirmed. According to the Oklahoma Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the 33-year-old died on Feb. 8 from an accidental fentanyl overdose while living in a sober living home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His mother had previously speculated that his death might have been accidental, suggesting he may have been self-medicating after being diagnosed with shingles a week before his death. Garrett also appeared in the 2004 production "Barney's Colorful World, Live!" and numerous theater productions.
