Following the departure of Dragon's Dogma 2 director Hideaki Itsuno from Capcom in August 2024, the remaining developers are confident the series is in good hands. In an interview, producer Naoto Oyama stated that Capcom has always structured itself so that it isn't absolutely reliant on a single person, noting that the new director, Kenta Kinoshita, has worked on all four Dragon's Dogma titles to date, including as director of Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen (2013) and main planner on the first game. Director Kenta Kinoshita added that he has seen the whole series through to date and believes he has what it takes to continue the series' legacy into the new expansion. Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen launches on October 9th, alongside a new Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game.
