Jamie Lynn Sigler recalled how her late "Sopranos" costar James Gandolfini supported her after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. On the "Question Everything" podcast, Sigler described how Gandolfini would check in on her with simple questions like "You good, kid?" which laid the foundation for her to eventually confide in him. When she finally unloaded her diagnosis and personal struggles during season 3, Gandolfini's first reaction was to remind her that she was "just a kid" and didn't have to have everything figured out. Sigler, who played Gandolfini's onscreen daughter Meadow, admitted she sometimes wished their father-daughter relationship was real, saying the moments felt very real and were part of the show's magic. She was diagnosed with MS at age 20 but kept it secret for 15 years, revealing it publicly in 2016. Gandolfini was the only cast member who knew about her condition for many years. Sigler also recalled their last conversation at a casino, where Gandolfini asked if she needed help walking and expressed pride that she was still doing well.
