Kelly Bensimon and celebrity chef ‘lucky to be alive’ after terrifying head-on crash in Florida Uber

Kelly Bensimon and celebrity chef Andrew Molen were injured in a violent head-on car crash in Sarasota, Florida, on Monday. The pair were in an Uber that turned onto Tamiami Trail and was struck by an oncoming car, causing airbags to deploy. Bensimon, Molen, and the driver of the other car were taken to the hospital. Bensimon described the incident, saying she is "lucky to have walked away alive" and that her "right arm is a mess." She was treated for a head injury and arm pain. Molen recalled seeing the other car coming and yelling "brake, brake" before the impact, which left him with a neck injury. He said Bensimon was unconscious for a few seconds after the crash. The pair were in town for a real estate open house and filming for a digital lifestyle series they are developing called "The Chef and the Housewife." The Sarasota Police Department confirmed the crash report is still in progress.
