Kristin Cavallari Had to Give Jay Cutler 'Half' of Her Company in Divorce

Kristin Cavallari revealed on the "Aspire" podcast that she had to give her ex-husband Jay Cutler "half the value" of her company Uncommon James in their divorce settlement. Cavallari said that while the success of Uncommon James gave her the confidence to leave her marriage, she ultimately "didn't get anything" from Cutler and receives no money from him. She admitted being "really pissed" at the time but is now thankful, saying those moments push her to "fight harder." Cavallari has previously shut down assumptions that Cutler funded her jewelry brand, insisting she got nothing after their separation. However, Cutler has disputed her version of events, calling her claims "reckless" and "borderline slander." He argued that Uncommon James was a "marital asset" since Cavallari funded it during their marriage, and stated there's "not a judge in the state of Tennessee" that would have signed an agreement allowing him to keep all his earnings. Cutler said their divorce decree, which is 67 pages, contains the number breakdown. The couple married in 2013 and announced their divorce in 2020 after seven years of marriage, sharing three children.
