Man Allegedly Told Pregnant GF He Wanted to 'Kill' Baby Before He Shot Her

A Missouri man, Nicholas Geary, has been arrested after allegedly telling his pregnant girlfriend he wanted "to kill the baby" before shooting her in the back and repeatedly hitting her in the stomach. The Washington County Sheriff's Office reported that Geary was involved in a domestic violence incident with his significant other, during which he shot her. According to a police press release, the victim reported that Geary had threatened to shoot her in the stomach due to her pregnancy in the days leading up to the incident. Geary called 911 and claimed he shot his girlfriend in self-defense, but police allege he admitted to firing multiple rounds at her. The victim survived and was treated for a gunshot wound to her back. Despite the victim stating she did not want to press charges, Geary has been charged with attempted murder, domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, and armed criminal action, and is being held without bond.
