Melissa Gilbert discovers 4 biological siblings after ‘remarkable weeks’ of research

Melissa Gilbert, known for "Little House on the Prairie," announced on Instagram Stories that she has discovered three biological brothers on her mother's side after connecting with a fifth cousin through an app. The 62-year-old actress said she found brothers Matt, Laird, and Mark (who has passed away), and is becoming especially close with Matt. She described the last few weeks as "remarkable" and said the true story of their adoptions is a "jaw dropper" that she will share on Substack. Gilbert told Page Six she has actually discovered a fourth biological brother but has yet to hear from him. She previously found her birth father's family, including three older half-siblings, but described those relationships as "fraught" and full of secrets. Gilbert was adopted by comedian Paul Gilbert and his wife Barbara Crane, and stressed that her mother and sister Sara Gilbert have been "remarkably supportive" of her journey.
