Meta has unveiled its new AI image generator, Muse Image, developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs. The feature, internally code-named Mango, will be available for free through the Meta AI app, Instagram Stories, and WhatsApp. Users can create images using prompts or prefabricated "presets" to spark ideas, and the tool also offers prompt-based image editing. Potential uses include creating custom ads and visualizing interior decoration ideas, with the latter integrated with Facebook Marketplace. Meta states that Muse is free for "everyday creation," but users may need subscription plans beyond a certain limit. The company also announced that Muse Video, an AI video generator, is already in development. This launch is part of Meta's broader push into AI, which has included other apps and services like Creator and Pocket, despite some criticism of its overall AI strategy.
