Italian singer and composer Peppino di Capri, one of the biggest names in Italian music, has died at the age of 86. The news was shared on social media this Saturday (July 11). The artist passed away in the morning on the island of Capri, Italy. The cause of death was not disclosed. In recent months, he had been away from the stage due to health problems. According to the Italian news agency Ansa, the wake and burial will take place this Sunday (July 12) at the Church of Santo Stefano, located near the Piazzetta of Capri. Born Giuseppe Faiella, the musician would have turned 87 on the 27th of this month. He leaves behind three children: Arrigo, known as Igor, from his first marriage, as well as Edoardo and Dario. Peppino di Capri marked the history of Italian music with hits such as "Roberta," "Champagne," "Let's Twist Again," "Nessuno al Mondo," "E Mo e Mo," "Amare di Meno," and "Il sognatore." His career gained prominence in 1958 when he released the hit "Malatia" alongside the band Rockers. Over more than six decades of his career, he established himself as one of the most popular and influential artists in the country.
