Prime Intellect, a startup providing computing power and software tools for building AI agents, has raised a $130 million Series A at a $1 billion valuation. The round was led by Radical Ventures with participation from Nvidia Ventures, Intel Capital, and others. Founded in 2024, the company aims to help organizations train their own agentic systems without relying on frontier AI labs, leveraging reinforcement learning techniques. The startup offers a "full stack" platform including compute access, a reinforcement learning framework, and evaluation tools. Customers like Ramp, Zapier, and Flapping Airplanes have adopted the platform, helping the company reach a $100 million annualized revenue run rate. The growth is driven by companies' concerns about sharing proprietary data with OpenAI and Anthropic, as well as the risk of depending on models that could be suddenly discontinued.
