Substitute Teacher Sent Nude Photos to Student, 14, Told Him She Loved Him

A former substitute teacher in Indiana, Cassidy Carter, has pleaded guilty to one count of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury after sending nude photos to a 14-year-old middle school student. She was sentenced to two years in jail. Carter, who was 21 at the time of the incident, had also been charged with child solicitation, but that charge was dropped because the victim moved out of the area and did not want to be involved in the case. According to reports, Carter added the student as a friend on Snapchat in November 2023 and sent him disturbing messages, including nude photos of herself taken every time she showered, often late at night. The teen reported the messages to a school resource officer in December 2023, leading to an investigation where multiple messages and nude photographs were found on the student's phone. Carter had worked as a substitute teacher at South Dearborn Middle School from early September to mid-November 2023.
