Texas Elementary School Teacher Arrested for Alleged Sexual Abuse of Student

A Texas elementary school teacher, Paul Campbell, was arrested on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child after an 8-year-old student reported incidents of inappropriate physical contact. The 64-year-old teacher worked at Brinker Elementary School in Plano ISD for more than 25 years. The victim, a second-grade student, claimed the abuse happened multiple times on school campus over the past school year, and the parents contacted police over the Fourth of July holiday weekend. Campbell was arrested in the Plano ISD Administration Building parking lot on July 8, caught off guard by the arrest. Police are conducting interviews to determine if there are additional victims, with Plano Police Department Public Information Officer Jerry Minton stating they are following up on names provided by the original accuser. Plano ISD issued a statement calling the alleged conduct "reprehensible" and "completely inconsistent" with the district's values, confirming they are fully cooperating with the investigation and have initiated action regarding Campbell's employment.
