‘The Ring’ star Daveigh Chase left behind substantial estate worth 6 figures

Daveigh Chase, the late actress known for starring in 2002's "The Ring" and voicing Lilo in Disney's "Lilo & Stitch," left behind $400,000 in personal property despite living on the streets of Downtown Los Angeles at the time of her death at age 35. Her mother, Cathy Chase, is asking the court to appoint her as the administrator of Daveigh's estate, stating in court documents that Daveigh's father "resides in the Philippines with an unknown address" but also "keeps properties" in Las Vegas. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner report lists Daveigh's primary cause of death as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), with chronic polysubstance use also noted. Daveigh's alleged boyfriend, Roy Hernandez, created a GoFundMe campaign to help her "find comfort and peace" in her final days, describing her as having faced "more than her share of hardship" after a difficult childhood and a painful falling out with her family. However, Daveigh's former manager, John Ryan, urged fans not to donate to the campaign, claiming that Hernandez was a man "none of us friends or her family has heard of." Ryan stated that Daveigh had a trust account set up at SAG to cover all costs and claimed she had "millions" in unclaimed residual checks at the time of her death. In a disturbing clip obtained by The Post, Daveigh was seen looking extremely skinny and barely conscious on the floor of a tent in LA's skid row. Ryan said he and her stepsister had enlisted a private investigator in 2025 to track her down, but after speaking to her on the phone, she "disappeared" again.
