Howard Stern is set to continue earning a substantial income despite reducing his SiriusXM show to one episode per week and laying off employees. Based on his previous $500 million, five-year deal, which equates to roughly $100 million a year for a four-hour weekly show, he earns approximately $8,000 per minute, a figure likely higher given his lengthy breaks. Page Six exclusively reported that Stern will cut back from three shows to one, and around a dozen staffers were laid off via Zoom, receiving severance packages. Stern kept a team of veteran producers as he "just doesn't need that much content anymore," with remaining airtime filled from his archive. He renewed his contract in December 2025 for three years, stating he had "figured out a way to have it all" with more free time and flexibility. Stern's first deal with SiriusXM was in 2004 for $500 million over five years, and he previously sued the company in 2011 over stock awards.
