Brazilian playwright Benedito Ruy Barbosa, aged 95, has been hospitalized in São Paulo with no forecast for discharge, according to the Hospital do Coração (Hcor). The hospital reported that the dramaturge has been suffering from renal insufficiency for three years, which has led to recurrent hospitalizations. The hospital did not specify when Barbosa was admitted. The author, known for telenovelas such as Pantanal, Terra Nostra, and Velho Chico, was previously hospitalized in January at the same hospital for treatment of a urinary infection.
