Bungie gives Destiny 2 players a final farewell gift as the game enters maintenance mode

Bungie has given Destiny 2 players a final farewell gift by releasing a code for a free emblem, the Gloriabundus Emblem, as the game enters maintenance mode. The developer also rolled out one final update, Patch 9.7.0.3, which primarily consists of bug fixes and increases reputation gains from Vanguard and Crucible activities. Community lead Dylan Gafner stated that beyond regular server downtimes, no more patches are expected, though small fixes for high-priority issues like game crashes could still be made. Bungie announced in May that Destiny 2's final update would be released one month later, which it was, and it was one of the biggest in the game's history, causing a significant jump in player numbers. Despite hopes that the resurgence would lead to continued support or a sequel, layoffs took away most of the Destiny 2 team. The final update has been well-received, leaving behind a game with a wealth of content that millions will continue to enjoy.
