American rapper DJ Khaled suffered a substantial financial loss after betting on Brazil to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He lost $500,000 (approximately R$ 2.57 million) when Brazil was eliminated by Norway in the round of 16, losing 2-1. The rapper had revealed the bet on social media on June 11th, the tournament's opening day, and stood to win $5 million (roughly R$ 25.5 million) if Brazil had secured their sixth world title. The bet was placed in partnership with a betting house that sponsors Real Madrid, the club of Brazilian stars Vinícius Jr. and Endrick. During the match, DJ Khaled watched alongside Jay-Z and posted a photo on social media showing his support for the Brazilian team and Vinícius Jr.
