Edmara Barbosa, daughter of renowned Brazilian author Benedito Ruy Barbosa, said her father had a "tranquil passage" before his death on Tuesday at age 95. He died from complications of chronic renal insufficiency at the Hospital do Coração (HCor) in São Paulo. Benedito Ruy Barbosa was famous for writing telenovelas including "Pantanal" and "O Rei do Gado." His body will be viewed in São Paulo on Tuesday from 3 PM to 9 PM, with a public farewell from 3 PM to 4 PM.
