Josh Duggar Transferred to 5th Prison in 5 Years After Child Porn Conviction

Former reality star Josh Duggar has been transferred to his fifth prison in five years following his 2021 conviction for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material. Court documents confirm that Duggar, 38, is now imprisoned at FCI Elkton in Lisbon, Ohio, a low-security federal correctional institution holding over 2,000 inmates. He was moved from temporary accommodations at FTC Oklahoma City on July 8. Duggar was initially held at the Washington County Detention Center in Arkansas after his 2021 arrest. He was convicted in December 2021 and sentenced to 12 years in prison, though he has maintained his innocence and suggested there were errors in the admission of forensic evidence at his trial. He served most of his 151-month sentence at FCI Seagoville in Texas before being moved to FMC Fort Worth earlier this year, with no reason publicly given for that transfer. Duggar has continued to appeal his conviction, but the Eighth Circuit upheld the trial ruling in October 2023, and the Supreme Court declined to review his appeal in June 2024. Prior to his child pornography case, Duggar faced accusations in 2015 that he molested five girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teenager. He publicly apologized at the time, and also apologized in August 2015 after being named in the Ashley Madison leak, which tied him to a website for facilitating affairs.
