Laura Dern has paid tribute to her "Jurassic Park" co-star Sam Neill following his death at age 78. Dern called Neill her "beloved lifetime friend" and a "true and noble gentleman," stating she will love him forever. The two played love interests in the 1993 film and reprised their roles in later sequels. Steven Spielberg, who directed "Jurassic Park," also paid tribute, calling Neill "exceptionally collaborative" and noting that his on-screen persona as someone who didn't like kids was the opposite of his real-life role as a loving father. Neill's family confirmed his "sudden and unexpected" death, noting he was surrounded by family. Two months before his death, Neill had announced he was cancer-free after battling a rare form of cancer.
