Pastor Márcio Poncio deixa presídio no Rio após decisão de Moraes

Pastor Márcio Poncio left the Pedrolino Werling de Oliveira prison (Bangu 8) in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday afternoon, after Supreme Court Minister Alexandre de Moraes converted his preventive detention to house arrest. The decision was based on the pastor's serious health condition, which includes severe ulcerative colitis, having undergone removal of his large intestine and rectum, requiring continuous medical monitoring. Moraes also considered the high-risk pregnancy of Poncio's wife, Simone Poncio, who is pregnant again at age 50. In addition to electronic monitoring, the minister ordered the prohibition of social media use, a ban on contacting other investigated individuals, suspension of any firearm possession registrations, and the surrender of passports. Poncio was arrested on July 2 as part of another phase of Operation Unha e Carne, which investigates the alleged leaking of confidential information to the Comando Vermelho (CV) and alleged involvement with the Cigarette Mafia.
