Patricia Richardson has called her second guest appearance on Tim Allen's sitcom "Last Man Standing" "not my best work" due to a car accident she suffered before filming. Richardson wrote on Instagram that she was "T-boned by a 93 year old" two months after a shoulder replacement, and had to take Friday rehearsal off. She returned Monday not knowing she was shooting that day and described the experience as "another hard day." Richardson and Allen previously starred together on "Home Improvement" from 1991 to 1999. More recently, Richardson, Richard Karn, and Debbe Dunning guest-starred on an episode of Allen's current ABC sitcom "Shifting Gears" in October 2025. Allen told Us Weekly that a potential "Home Improvement" reboot is complicated by "personality problems" with the three actors who played Tim and Jill's sons, particularly Zachery Ty Bryan's legal issues.
