He had reposted a photo of Norwegian footballer Erling Haaland with the comment "I would throw you off the cliff again," referencing Sonza's song "Penhasco" about their painful divorce. After negative backlash, he deleted the post. Whindersson claimed he only made the comment because Sonza herself often jokes about resembling Haaland, even using the comparison in advertisements. However, critics were upset not by the comparison itself but by his choice of words, which evoked the emotional pain of their breakup. Sonza subsequently unfollowed Whindersson on social media following the incident.
