The couple, who married on February 14, 2014, share two sons. Takecia requested primary physical custody of their minor son, exclusive use of the couple's Georgia home, attorney fees, and child and spousal support. Jey seemingly responded to the filing on social media with an Instagram Story post reading "IM A GROWN ASS MAN" accompanied by Ice Cube's song "It Was a Good Day." The couple had mostly kept their relationship off social media, though Jey had previously spoken about his wife's support in a 2020 documentary, acknowledging the sacrifices required by the wrestling business.
