Station F ramps up as a launchpad for Europe’s hottest AI startups

Station F, the Paris-based startup hub founded by French billionaire Xavier Niel, is positioning itself as a key launchpad for Europe's AI startups by ramping up its F/ai accelerator program. The program, which launched in January 2026, is preparing for its second cohort starting in September, aiming to help AI-focused startups move from early product to generating real revenue within weeks. Station F director Roxanne Varza noted that the hub's influence extends beyond its 538,000 square feet of co-working space, citing initiatives like the Future 40 annual selection, which in 2024 featured nearly all companies incorporating AI into their core business. The first cohort of F/ai was backed by major tech companies including AMD, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI, among others, and the second cohort will add partners like Eleven Labs and GitHub. Varza stated the goal was to connect AI startups launching in Europe with major players. The accelerator focuses on helping its cohort generate revenue, targeting €1 million within six months, addressing criticism of the slow commercialization pace of European startups. The first cohort collectively raised $34 million in pre-seed funding, with 80% of the 20 startups founded by repeat entrepreneurs and a third holding PhDs.
