You can now customize Siri’s pace and expressivity in the latest iOS 27 beta

Apple has introduced customizable voice controls for Siri in the latest iOS 27 developer beta, allowing users to adjust the assistant's pace and expressivity. The update, part of beta 3, enables sliders for speed and emotional expression, along with a range of accents, moving beyond simple male/female voice options. This is part of Apple's broader effort to make Siri feel more natural and personal as it rebuilds the assistant around generative AI. While ChatGPT offers similar customization, including warmth and enthusiasm adjustments rolled out in December 2025, Apple's new features let users preview changes with sample phrases like "You have one new message." The AI-powered Siri is deeply integrated into iOS, accessible via voice, typing from the Dynamic Island, the side button, or a new standalone Siri app. Minor updates in beta 3 include an updated Reminders app icon, though some users report losing access to the new Siri or seeing their phone re-index data after updating.
