Biggest Changes Between 'Five-Star Weekend' Show and Elin Hilderbrand's Book

23h · 3 views

Peacock's adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand's "The Five-Star Weekend" includes several changes from the original novel. The showrunner, Bekah Brunstetter, explained her approach to adapting the story, which follows a grieving food blogger who invites friends from different eras of her life to Nantucket. Key changes include moving a big reveal involving the character Gigi from the end of the novel to the pilot episode. Other differences include Caroline having a much larger arc in the show, Tatum receiving news about suspicious cells after a negative biopsy (unlike in the book), and Dru-Ann making the decision to quit her job and start her own agency only in the show. The book's epilogue took place one year later while the show had no time jump, and the show changed how the affair was exposed, with Hollis hearing it from her friend group instead of Electra exposing it as in the book.
