Sam Neill, the star of the 1993 blockbuster "Jurassic Park," has died at the age of 78 in Sydney, Australia, his family announced. The actor, who was surrounded by family, had remained cancer-free after battling angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Neill had announced he was cancer-free just two months ago after undergoing a successful trial of CAR T-cell therapy when chemotherapy stopped working. Born in Northern Ireland and raised in New Zealand, Neill was best known for playing paleontologist Dr. Alan Grant in the "Jurassic Park" franchise, a role he reprised in "Jurassic Park III" and "Jurassic World: Dominion." His career included notable roles in films such as "Sleeping Dogs," "Dead Calm," and "Memoirs of an Invisible Man," as well as the BAFTA-winning series "Peaky Blinders," where he played Inspector Chester Campbell.
