A statement shared via his Instagram page said Neill passed away on Monday, July 13, in Sydney, Australia, surrounded by family. The family noted that the loss was "sudden and unexpected but blessed by the fact that Sam remained cancer free." Neill was known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in the "Jurassic Park" film series, a role he originated in 1993. The actor revealed in his 2023 memoir that he had been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, which went into remission after treatment. Neill is survived by his four children.
