Smith posted videos and photos on Instagram, including one of her husband Lucky Blue Smith shaving Whimsy's hair and another of the toddler walking with a bald head. She reflected on grieving small moments like brushing her daughter's hair and finding curls on her pillow. Smith shared in June that Whimsy was diagnosed with cancer "late last year" after a pediatrician found something suspicious. The toddler underwent X-rays, ultrasounds, and a biopsy, and was told the cancer had spread and she needed to start chemotherapy immediately. Smith said she hopes sharing their story helps other families feel less alone and encourages people to learn more about childhood cancer.
