Taylor Sheridan Returns to 'Dutton Ranch' After Season 2 Showrunner Change

Taylor Sheridan is returning to be more involved with 'Dutton Ranch' for its second season after being less active during season 1. Kelly Reilly, who plays Beth, reflected on filming season 1 without Sheridan's direct involvement, saying she was uncertain if the character would work without his words. She noted that Sheridan is now talking to the cast about the next season and wants to be involved. Sheridan, who created the Yellowstone universe, has become known for writing many of his shows solo and preferring not to use writers' rooms. He has stated that he will not compromise on his stories, saying he decided to tell his stories his way after quitting acting. He acknowledged that he will compromise on budget but will not change a script to meet a budget.
