"We mean business" - Bethesda union members to march in protest of sweeping Xbox job cuts

Bethesda Game Studios union workers have announced plans to protest the recent mass layoffs at Microsoft's Xbox division, which cut 3,200 jobs. The union's mobilizing committee confirmed a "Save Our Devs" rally will be held at ZeniMax offices in multiple cities on July 15. The union stated that Microsoft is trying to frame the cuts as an "entrepreneurial change" to avoid legal obligations to bargain. The union is demanding preferential transfers for affected workers into open roles across Xbox and Microsoft, stronger severance and extended healthcare, and recall rights for laid-off members. The committee said they are heading to the bargaining table to fight for every affected worker and to show management "we mean business." Following the layoffs, Bethesda team members have spoken of plummeting morale and the loss of key figures, while layoffs at id Software have been described as a "bloodbath."
